What is the UC Merced Alumni Journey Survey?
The survey will ask about several topics, including:
- Your current contact information and how you like to receive news about UC Merced;
- Your current employment and other education you pursued, including how well UC Merced prepared you;
- Your engagement in volunteer and outreach activities; and
- Your interest in being engaged with the campus as an alumni (e.g., helping enrich the student experience)
How do I take the survey?
If you're eligible, you'll receive an email invitation to take the survey at up to two email accounts on record for you. The emails will be sent from any of the following individuals:
- Magdalena Castaneda '15, UC Merced Interim Assistant Director of Alumni Relations
- Liz Atilano, Director of Career Center
- Miguel Lopez '12, UC Merced Alumni Association (UCMAA) President
- UCM Alumni / UC Merced Alumni
Why should I take the survey?
Alumni feedback is crucial to making improvements at UC Merced. For example, the information you share can be used to help us understand how well UC Merced prepared you to achieve your educational and professional goals. You can also help us determine how best to keep in touch with our alumni and to get help from our alumni with enriching the current UC Merced student experience.
Who can take the survey?
Alumni who graduated from UC Merced 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 year(s) ago. For the summer of 2024, this includes students who graduated in 2014-15, 2016-17, 2018-19, 2020-21 or 2022-23.
How long will the survey take and when can I complete it?
The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and is available between July 8, 2024 and August 31, 2024.
Can I receive prizes for taking the survey?
As an appreciation for your time and as an incentive for taking the survey, we will give away 40 $25 Amazon e-gift cards – a total of $1,000. We will also give away 20 UC Merced branded items. Survey completers* will be entered into bi-weekly prize drawings, so the earlier you complete the survey the more chances you’ll have to win!

Because we're sending emails to up to two email addresses, it's possible for you to click the link to take the survey in one email account, but still receive reminders in a second account. To unsubscribe from the mailing for a particular email address, go to the bottom of an email you received at the address and click the "opt out" link.
