This has been a truly historic year for our alma mater as UC Merced continues to experience an unprecedented growth!

Dear Alumni,

My name is Randell Rueda, your UC Merced Alumni Association President and alumnus from the class of 2011 and I am excited to share that this has truly been a historic year for our alma mater!

UC Merced continues to experience unprecedented growth, being ranked by U.S. News & World Report in the top 100 universities for a third consecutive year; enrolling more than 9,000 scholars, which represents the largest student body in UC Merced’s history; introducing the Community and Labor Center, the campus’s newest organized research unit; expanding the Merced Automatic Admissions Program to increase Central Valley student enrollment; and securing the Board of Regents’ approval for a medical education building – just to name a few!

During this season of giving, I invite you to consider investing in our university’s momentum and growth by making a gift. My brother Erwynn (’16) and I have recently decided to give back to UC Merced by establishing an alumni endowed scholarship. We wanted to ensure that future Bobcats have access to an incredible education and enriching experiences, something we are both passionate about. You, too, can make a gift towards a fund that is meaningful to you, including scholarships, fellowships, research, student success programs, and so many others. Whether you can give $5, $50, $500 or anything in between, every contribution makes an impact and demonstrates your commitment to your Bobcat family.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and I wish you a happy and healthy holiday season and new year.

With Gratitude,
Randell Rueda ‘11
