Why did you apply for the UC Merced Alumni Association Board of Directors?
As an alumna, I slowly began to give back to UC Merced through my professional career in HR. I began partnering with Office of Leadership, Service and Career and then continued my involvement through the UCMAA Dream Teams as a volunteer. It made sense to broaden my contributions to UC Merced by becoming a Board of Director!
How do you balance being on the UCMAA Board with your personal and professional committees?
Starting off as a Dream Team volunteer really helped managed my expectations and time commitment that was needed to be a part of the UCMAA Board of Directors. I partnered closely with Brooklynn (who is now our UCMAA President!). She taught me how I could efficiently create an impact for UCM! I would recommend connecting with one of our Board of Directors to help ease you in!
