Student Alumni Association

The UC Merced Alumni Association is committed to empowering students to become active citizens within the university and their community. Interaction between students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members is an important aspect of achieving such success.

The Student Alumni Association (SAA) is the largest student group on campus and is comprised of students who have made a $10 contribution to support building a culture of philanthropy on campus. Learn more about the SAA.

What's Philanthropy?

Defined as the effort or inclination to increase the well-being of humankind, as by charitable aid or donations. In other words, philanthropy means to give back.

Philanthropic efforts by students and alumni are directly related to university growth. When you donate your time, funds and talents to UC Merced, it's perceived as a vote of confidence and support for your alma mater. Participation in university events, making a financial gift and sharing your stories with prospective students are all ways in which you can show others that you are happy with the education and experience you received while attending UC Merced. Whichever way you give, you improve the student experience for current and future students.
