To join the Student Alumni Association (SAA),
students must first make a $10 membership contribution.
The Student Alumni Association Pledge demonstrates that the student is dedicated to the following UC Merced ideals:
- Striving for excellence in and out of the classroom
- Living by the UC Merced Principles of Community
- Giving back to fellow students and the community
In addition to pledging their commitment to these ideals, our members are asked to make a one time financial contribution of $10 to the SAA to finalize their membership.
This financial contribution begins the student's career of UC Merced philanthropy and encourages lifelong giving on behalf of our future alumni. The $10 contribution will suppor SAA activities and develop additional scholarship support for fellow students.

SAA members receive many benefits as members including opportunities to network with UC alumni at special events, opportunities to promote philanthropy on campus, and special discounts at over 85 local businesses through our CATSPOTS program. SAA membership lasts a lifetime, transcending the bridge between student life and alumni experience.
